This year we sat down with a few of our staff members to have a discussion of gratitude and reflection and we asked what they are thankful for this year. Here are some of their answers:
“I’m generally really thankful for another year of delivering highly impactful experiences to our students. When I dissect that more I realize that we’re delivering the programs and my true thankfulness is to the staff who have so much passion and drive and to the parents and students who trusted us to deliver these life changing experiences.” -Mitsu I., Executive Director
“Dedicated, passionate, hardworking staff committed to running safe and life-changing programs. A strong and effective basecamp administration team. A supportive and collaborative local community.” -Erika H., Washington Program Director
“People who are willing to give, inspire, stand up for others, live their convictions, love even those who they don’t agree with.” -Kathleen W., Board Member
“This year there’s been a lot of opportunity for personal growth. NWOBS has supported me in school/professional development. I’ve also seen more of the Northwest than I’ve ever seen before.: -Melissa U., Development Coordinator
“I’m thankful for the changing of the season [. . .] It acts as a natural shift for my own thinking and how to aspire for more and to connect to the world around me, which forces a change in perspective.” -Carla R, Operations Manager
“I’m thankful to be able to spend time with my friends and family and celebrate all of our successes over the past year.” -Emily C., Capital Campaign Development Assistant
“I’m thankful for the people in my life. I feel part of family and community that supports each other.” –Eli L., Grant Writer
